The Karoo is a place where the peace and quiet can literally be felt the moment you arrive. Beautiful, muted tones and sun-kissed textures speak of everything raw and real and life’s stresses tend to simply fade away as your eye lingers on the surrounding landscape. It’s a place where life slows down, even if it’s just for a moment and where you can appreciate the simple things again. Kicking your shoes off and allowing the tranquility to seep into your soul as you laze on the porch or next to a fire, that’s the Karoo way. Our aim is to create contemporary pieces that will honour this amazing place and the raw, reclaimed materials from which most were created. Clean, soothing lines and authentic, raw materials - that’s what we’re all about. The hope is that our creations will evoke that very same Karoo feel in your home, living space or wherever you decide to place it.
About Us
This co-lab is what happens when a former décor editor and her equally creative and hands-on husband find themselves in a place where they finally have the time and space to allow passion and creativity to flow. Each piece is lovingly made as an expression of our creativity, which means that we don’t mass produce. Once an item is available for sale, it will be posted here, so please do pop in regularly to see what is on offer. We’re also open to commissioned work, so feel free to contact us if you see something that you like - even if it has been sold. We will not be able to re-produce the exact same thing, but can make something similar with your specific preferences in mind. We also welcome retailers that would like to stock our products, as well as interior decorators/designers.
Delivery
As we’re based on a guest farm in the heart of the Ceres-Karoo (about 118km from Ceres|140km from Worcester ), delivery of items can be a bit tricky, but we’re always willing to see how we can assist. The farm boasts a couple of lovely self-catering cottages and campsites, so you’re also welcome to combine collection of your item with a bit of a breakaway or an overnight stay. We also have a depot in Somerset West, where we will deposit new items from time to time, so please just check with us if you’re interested in an item.
